  1. Hi Ms. Muhl.. this is Gabby from homeroom

I wanted to comment about the quote believing takes practice, I wanted to comment about this because I noticed that in the book Meg had a pretty hard time believing in her self until the end of the book, when she was trying to get Charles Wallace back from IT. I thought this showed that maybe the author is trying to teach us not to just believe in yourself when not in danger but always, and that to do this takes practice.

    1. Yes believing in your talents and gifts takes practice because you have to have a revelation that you actually have gifts. Meg had the gift of love from so many people but didn't realize it, once she did she could turn it around to give the gift to someone else like Charles Wallace and it saved both of their lives!

    2. Hi Ms. Muhl!.. this is Gabby

I wanted to comment a text to text connection I had with the quote, "People are more than just the way look", the connection was..... with Augey having a messed up face he's not like everyone else but way more nice than Jillian but all that's on the inside. I was comparing this to Meg because the way the author made her sound in the book was that she didn't care much about how she looks and she wasn't really popular in school, but that's not what she cared about she cared about the people around her and her surroundings and then at the end of the book she found the best part about herself and that was LOVE and also who she loved.

  2. Hi Ms.Muhl it's Matthew from Mr.Stoner's class I will comment on the quote "like and equal are not the same". Equal means you are the same in every way. "Like" means that you might be almost the same. I think the author is trying to say the you might think that you might be equal but you will always be a litte different.

    1. Like and Equal are not the same.. interesting that you would pick this quote. Who are you like? Who are you an equal with? When you play football are you all equally alike? Do you think that all players are the same because they are all on the team? Could we just move them around to different positions because after all they are all football players right? hmmmmm...

  3. Hi Ms. Muhl its Nate. B from Mr. Stoner`s class I will comment on this quote “People are more than just the way they look.” I choose this quote because I thought about Auggie in Wonder because although he may look different he turned out to be a real nice and funny friend. I also relate this quote to the quote "Dont judje a book by it`s cover." because what on the outside doesnt say what is on the inside. By the way in "A wrinkle in time" IT does not look like what I expepected IT to look like.

    1. Nate B... what did you expect IT to look like... you know IT is what YOU expected not what the producers of the video visualized. :)

  4. Hey Ms. Muhl I would like to comment on the quote “Believing takes practice.” I picked this quote because i the begging Meg had no belif in herself once so ever then in the middle she started to gain belif then in the end she "practiced" Beliving so much she had Belif in herself and saved Charlles

  6. Hi Ms.Muhl this is Sarah T from Mr.Stoners class. The quote "People are more than just the way they look" in my image means that it doesn't matter if someone is pretty or handsome if they aren't the same inside. The author's message to us is that don't judge a person just because they aren't aesthetically pleasing . But to only judge people by there actions.

  9. Hi Ms.Muhl this is Ying.... I looked at the quotes and i saw this quote.

“People are more than just the way they look.”
I liked this quote because it reminded me of Auggie because even though he didn't look the best he was very nice and smart and he was so much more then what the outside of him looked like. I think Madeleine was trying to tell us that if people look diffent it doesn't mean that they are not importent.

  16. Hi Ms.Muhl this is Jacob from homeroom and I looked at the website with all the quotes and one really popped out and the quote was "If you aren't unhappy sometimes you don't know how to be happy.” What I think that means is if you are not unhappy sometimes you really don't know why you are happy and that quote was one of my favorites.

  17. Hi Ms.Muhl this is Ali from homeroom. The quote that I liked was:“No! Alike and equal are not the same thing at all!”.I think this means like no one is alike and equal is like everyone should be treated equally.

  18. Hi Ms.Muhl this is Karissa and I wanted to comment on the quote “Life, with its rules, its obligations, and its freedoms, is like a sonnet: You're given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself. - Mrs. Whatsit” I liked this quote because it really is true, life is like a poem it depends on the decisions you make of how it will out and if you don't start it you won't finish it.

  19. Hi Ms.Muhl This is Hannah from homeroom
I read about Madeleine L'engle's Biography, And i thought it was interesting about how many books shes written! She really liked to write! I made a txt to self connection on one of the characters in her book, After ten years in Connecticut, the Franklin"s moved to New York City. This relates to my life because i moved after being at Norton for 11 years.

  20. Hi, Ms.Muhl, this is Julia. I want to comment for the quote about alike and equal. I would say that alike and equal are ABSOLUTELY different! Alike are two things similar, or may have the same traits. However, equal is when two or more people are treated with the same respect.

  21. Hi Ms. Muhl sorry about the previous comment. I did chose the autobiography though. I think the reason she chose to be a writer was because she was used to working at a play. She probably learned about emotions and other things and put it into her writing.

  22. Hi Ms.Muhl! This is Jenna from homeroom I have a text to text connection and that is that I thought that the quote: "People are more than just the way they look." was very interesting and meaningful to me, and it reminded me of another popular saying: "Don't judge a book by it's cover" I think that these two quotes were similar because basically "Don't judge a book by its cover" can be for people too, so, to put people in the place of that saying is "Don't judge people by their looks" which if you compare the two sayings now, they are very similar.

  23. Hi Ms Muhl It is Graci
Hi Ms. Muhl. This is Graci. I am blogging about A Wrinkle in Time. I didn't picture Meg being so old when we watched the movie. I also didn't picture "IT" to look like fat snakes. My favorite quote was, "Like and equal are not the same." I think "like" means that everyone is unique while being the same. I think "equal" means that everybody is the same in every way.

My text to world connection is that some people persevere but still don't always succeed or get the outcome that they expected/wanted. In the movie, Meg tried so hard to get Charles Wallas, but she couldn't because "IT" had Charles under control. Meg did not get him until the end when she found "ITs" weakness.

  25. Hi Ms.Muhl, it's lexi! I wanted to comment about the quote “People are more than just the way they look." I chose this quote because a lot of people judge people by how they look and you should not judge people. I can make a connection because “People are more than just the way they look" sounds a lot like the qoute "dont judge a book by its cover" and I have heard people say that.

  28. Hi Ms.Muhl this is Alex from homeroom and I want to talk about the quote "Believing takes practice". I want to comment on this because in the story Meg thought she lost Charles forever but she had to go save him but she was a little unsure about it. Calvin and her dad both believed in her so she had more confidence and she saved Charles

  29. Hi Ms.Muhl this is Karissa and I wanted to make a connection to the quote “Experiment is the mother of knowledge.” ― Madeleine L'Engle, A Wrinkle in Time. My connection is that Auggie would have never known that true friends don't judge you by the way you look, if he had never gone to public school.

  31. Hi Ms.Muhl this Seth from homeroom,

I read all of the quotes and the one that stood out was “Life, with its rules, its obligations, and its freedoms, is like a sonnet: You're given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself." This was said by Mrs.Whatsit. I think it means that do what you want with your life but you have to follow in some kind of rules or laws. This goes with soccer because you have to follow all the rules but you get to decide do you want to dribble or pass it off. This quote goes with life too.

I still think the man desrved to be exicuted, because what if the enemy went to go collect resources (I think i misspelled that) looked over the wall and saw the man flying had the said "Well that looks fun, oh I just thought of something. why dont I invent that and use it to attack them and they wont know it. So I think he should have died
